4.Educational Quality Promotion Project
Objectives
To develop educational quality of schools under the project and to provide educational services covering rural areas where there had been a lack of opportunity.
Activities
1. Providing a short-term training course in order to enhance teachers' potential in educational arrangements
2. Developing the infrastructure and environment that are safe and appropriate for schooling 3. Providing distance learning 4. Developing formal and non-formal education covering rural areas where there had been a lack of opportunity, and giving education opportunities to underprivileged children, such as mobile classrooms, learning centers, "Pariyattitham" Buddhist schools and Islamic private schools, etc.
Evaluation
To evaluate educational quality in line with the guidelines of the national educational system, relevant authorities decided to use the National Test (NT) as an indicator. The National Test (NT) is the evaluation of academic year 2004, while the evaluation of academic year 2005 was being carried out.
In academic year 2004, 2,557 grade-6 students of the schools under the project attended the examination. Their scores can be compared to the average scores of the country as follows:
